A Clash of Titans: World of Warcraft vs Eve Online (3/3)
This is my comparison of the two greatest mmo’s; World of Warcraft and EvE Online. Enjoy 
I know i don’t use sounds in Eve in the videos, is because I usually listen to music when im playing EvE. *Note this review has been done June 2010, game versions used: WoW-Wrath of the Lich King patch 3.3.3. and Eve Online –Tyrannis.

I preffer EVE as well, altough I haven’t played a huge ammount of WoW.

In EVE, you really get the adrenaline pumping. There is no sensation greater than fall into an ambush, and survive, especially if you manage to turn the tables on the ambushers.

I remember i had my Harbinger and was in 0.0 coming home from some rats before the server went down for maintenance and then a red dot appeared and i knew he was coming for me cause he tailed me through the systems.And with the same rush i tried to escape and there were like 30 seconds left and he caught me and destroyed me and the server shut down…I stared like an idiot a t the screen for some time having mix feeling about all that XD

i remember the first time i when to pvp in eve…i was sweating and my hands were shaking….knowing that i could loose a ship that i’ve worked for hours to buy. consequences. no other games ever got me that rush.

Yes very good review, but it does really all come down to how intelligent, mature, and old you are.. for 12 year olds with down syndrome wow is a perfect choice. For Sci-Fi fans who think out side the box and for the most part the universe Eve is the perfect choice. EvE really isn’t so much hard to learn as there is a lot more to learn. All there really is to learn in wow is how to make since of random + and – numbers on your gear

Great comparison…I have a couple of disagreements, but in general, well executed review. I’ve played both and both have their strong points. Main distinction is WoW PvE endgame is much better and EVE PvP is the best in the MMO world.

I’m glad Eve won, because it is definitely the better game. The scale and complexity of what you can do in it compared to WoW is just mind-boggling at times, especially if you get into management positions in nullsec corps and alliances. You have to manage supply lines, build bases, create transit shortcuts through stations or titans to make it easier for your soldiers to move through your territory to defend it against attacks by THOUSANDS of people at once…Eve is just plain unequaled.

Eve is realistic. You really care about the stuff that happens in game. There’s real economy and markets, war, diplomacy, crime, spying (F***KING SPAY IN FLEET 0.o) and so much more. Besides the people of Eve are a very enoyable sort. Eve made me laugh and cry, feel like an ultimate bad-ass when I achieved my first fleet battle victory and left me feeling like a complete idiot when I was ambushed returning to home system. In the end, Eve is too realistic and takes too much time, so I had to quit

Wow can be fun if you have some cool people to do the end game with, and I always loved the “ding” sound when you leveld up. However in the end it was too simple for my liking and the fact that you did the same stuff over and over again was highly annoying to me so I quit. Eve is a totaly different story. It’s just impossible to do a correct comparisson of the two since they are just so different. But you did a pretty good job at it in my honest opinion. (Far too long comment to be continued…)

Lol, I love how EvE people were upset before round 3 because they though that WoW was goin to win, NOW EvE players are happy because their game won. Though I cant say much because I to also wanted EvE to win since I been playen EvE for the past 5 years now give or take.

The interesting part of eve is that the stakes are so much higher. The ships you fly, and the modules you fit on it can take a long time to buy, and only a short while to lose. It is never fun to lose a ship it took you 3 months to get…but it is really exciting when you return the favour.

Your breakdown of the games was very in depth, and I applaud the fact that, while attempting to remain objective, you pointed out where personal preferences played a part in your choices. I am an avid EVE player, after years of playing WOW and getting angry at how Blizzard simplified the game to a ridiculous level, making it a very boring experience for me.EVE is, well, EVE. No game is as addictive or infuriating as EVE, and WoW never gives a rush the way EVE does when it comes to pvp. EVE!!!

@Nightmeare brilliant comparisons. I really like how you kept it unbiased and generally fair. Even though I’ve never played eve (other than the trial a few times) and have a lvl 60 WoW toon, I have to say that EVE looks way more appealing. In my opinion, the more freedom, the more fun an mmorpg is, hence the name. Thanks for these 3 videos!

@ThePhoenixRebourne I had good friends and rl friends in both of them and from what i experienced that trust was needed in both games, for WoW in Pve and for EvE in PvP.But there are chat buddies in EvE too.So i dont know, i say i have looked at least good enough in both games and with some subjectivity made the review.Ofc in the end each viewer is gonna decide for himself.
